Many brides today are on a budget, and although $10 takes it to the extreme, the point remains the same: you don’t have to spend a fortune on your wedding gown. Even if your sewing skills are rudimentary, you can make exactly the dress you’ve always wanted, without the hefty price tag. DIY is the perfect option for Brides who want to be more hands on with their big day and add some personal touches, not to mention those who are Eco and budget conscious. Before you decide to lay down hundreds or thousands on your dress, consider making a one of a kind gown on your own.
Claudia Endler Designs
When it comes to all things wedding jewelry, you may find yourself scouring several different stores, shops, sellers, and sites to find everything you’re looking for. From the engagement ring, to gifts for the bridesmaids and the groomsmen’s cufflinks. All of these details should mean something to you, and be made of the highest quality, not to mention being easy on the eyes.
Modern brides and grooms want something different, and if simple diamond studs aren’t your cup of tea, you’ll find you still have a variety of options that aren’t for those with cookie-cutter tastes. Modern, exciting, and elegant jewelry, perfectly suited for the Bride, Groom, and wedding party, can be found in the very talented Claudia Endler Designs. These original designs set themselves apart from all other wedding jewelry. Wedding bands that make a statement, bridesmaid jewelry that is simple and elegant, and an engagement line that strikes the balance between simplicity, and beauty.
Wedding bands are all too often the least exciting piece of wedding jewelry, which is a pity considering they are the focal point of the ceremony on your big day. Modern designs offer an alternative to the traditional band, giving you a chance to embrace your own personal flare with your wedding bands. Design doesn’t have to mean elaborate, and over the top jewelry; those with simple tastes will appreciate the focus on metals, lines, stones and other design aspects that Modern jewelry offers. Claudia Endler’s Men’s Line Band, with stackable, contrasting metals in varying finishes is my personal favorite; a subtle and original take without straying too far from tradition. Stackable rings are also great way to build your own design and look, and find the balance you want in a set. Stackable diamond engagement rings are also available, along with the perfect wedding band to match it’s shape and style, they fit flawlessly together.
Chic and modern Brides on a budget can also enjoy these designs, with the Modeux series, featuring stunning pieces for $200 and under. Onyx and pearls take all new shapes in these modern designs. Necklaces and earrings are the iconic bridesmaid gift, so why not give a unique piece of jewelry unlike anything they have? Your wedding day will be a memorable occasion, make sure your jewelry lives up to the same expectations.

Bridal Haute Couture
Izaro has a beautiful line of Bridal Couture, and absolutely stunning photography by Yervant to match it. Talk about atmosphere and presence. I’m not sure what I’m in love with more, the gowns or the photography.

The amazing thing about Izaro’s wedding gowns is that they are not too high fashion for even the most modest of brides. Whether you want a classic gown, or a couture dress that makes a statement, Izaro can design for you. Check out their bridal gallery, with photos of real brides and their stunning Izaro dresses.
What is Haute Couture? These are unique, hand made, one of a kind gowns that are created only for one bride. They are of exquisite design, expensive fabrics, and luxurious craftsmanship. Only designers that meet the highest standards can use this term to describe their work.

Creative Wedding Bands
Etsy is the best place to find unique items that really set themselves apart from the traditional, especially for rings. Supporting sellers that create handmade items is also a much better use of your money, forget those generic rings made in bulk by overpriced jewelers! You could begin your own tradition with these rings, and pass them down through your family. Here are some great finds for original wedding bands.

Jenny Packham
Stunning gowns with a very vintage and era specific type feel. I am just in love with all of her designs. What perfect dresses for a modern wedding with vintage influences. The fabric is particularly delicious, with silky smooth shine that flows beautifully in the cut, and the pairing of beading and sheer fabrics is also gorgeous. Plenty of dramatic, starlet cuts, as well as modest, vintage cuts that suit anyone. See more on her website here.

Just breath taking fabrics and cuts, with little details that just make these dresses one of a kind. I’m not sure I’ve been so in love with every single dress one designer has made. I’m just thrilled about discovering Jenny Packham and her stunning wedding gowns!
Purple Wedding Bouquets
Continuing with our floral theme this week, we move on to shades of Purple. Purple is more diverse than what people might initially think. It does blend with a cool palette very easily, but you can pair it with all warm tones, such as pinks and reds, and it even goes well with green. Here are some unique floral ideas for inspiration, along with a few palette ideas to help you match purple with your own palette.
Today’s Theme: Purple
Feature Flowers: Lavender, Orchids, Lilies, Lisianthus.

Many flowers come in purple, from roses to carnations, almost any flower is now available in almost any color you want. But that shouldn’t mean you shouldn’t stick to the basics! If you’re on a budget, go with flowers that are in season for your wedding date, that are naturally purple.
These bouquets feature some amazing elements mixed in among the flowers, such as dark berries, and even peacock feathers! Nothing brings out the color, and compliments floral, like non floral details. Bouquets should be diverse, and more than just flowers, add in other natural elements such as twigs, fern leaves, moss etc. I also am in love with the idea of a lavender bouquet (as in the herb!) it is such a natural feel to it, perfect for a wedding in the country side! A very unique take on “bouquet”.

This bouquet is probably one of my favorites. It’s so bold and the colors are stunningly complimentary! I love the idea of adding the peacock feather, which incorporates all of the elements used in the bouquet. Dark leaves and pale green flowers work wonderfully next to maroon and purple flowers, tied together with a powder blue satin ribbon.

Unique Yellow Floral
This week we will focus primarily on floral! From receptions to bridal bouquets to boutonnieres, it is Floral Week here on Modern Wedding .org. Each day there will be a post featuring one specific color, to better help brides in search of flowers to match their palette, or get some inspiration from hues. We also like to think outside the box, here at ModWed, so we will steer clear of peonies and roses! It’s time for a new take on Wedding floral.
Today’s Theme: Yellow
Feature Flowers: Daffodils, Sunflowers, Chamomile.
Yellow is a color that can go many different ways in your palette. It can be the focal point, or it can be a complimentary color. It can be apart of a bold, cool palette, or blend into a warm subtle palette. Here are some color combination ideas for yellow.

Bouquets are the most iconic floral element in a wedding, both the Bridal bouquet and the Bridesmaids’ bouquets. There are plenty of yellow flowers that are much more original and unique than the traditional peonies. They are also much cheaper and budget friendly. I think they make much more of a statement, after all, Sunflowers and Daffodils are just related with the world happiness!

And for the reception, how about a unique take on some classic flowers. Lemons along with yellow lilies and roses work wonderfully together, as seen by these beautiful centerpieces by Yvonne Design! With the branches and the birds, it’s so unique.

Pomanders are a popular trend at the moment, whether they are held by the flower girl, or hung on a post as a decoration lining a path, or on the edge of the chairs at the ceremony. They are often made of a variety of fresh flowers, but you can also make them from tissue paper for longer lasting decor.
DIY Detail: Create your own tissue paper pomanders! Much more practical, and totally budget friendly. Check out this amazing post over on the Ruffled Blog.
