This type of cake also fits in with just about any theme, as the design is minimal and the texture is enough on it’s own. It’s simplicity at it’s best, with an original twist.

I’ve never been more in love than when I saw this abstract, plexiglass shard, chandelier guest book found here. Guests could choose a piece and write their wishes for the newlyweds, and at night this chandelier was illuminated! The antique typewriter used as a guest book is pretty common these days, but it doesn’t make it any less one of my ultimate favorites. I think its a great way to add a vintage touch, and contributes to your decor more than a simple, traditional book would. It’s also more fun for guests. Pomanders are a popular trend at the moment, whether they are held by the flower girl, or hung on a post as a decoration lining a path, or on the edge of the chairs at the ceremony. They are often made of a variety of fresh flowers, but you can also make them from tissue paper for longer lasting decor.

It is common for couples to have their “first time we met” stories based around holidays. Holidays are a cause for social events, parties, and gatherings. This is often where you meet “friends of friends” for the first time, or maybe even be the victim of a friend trying to play cupid. Maybe on the same day, the following year, he proposes! I’m not sure I can pick a favorite element from this wedding, but if I had to, it would probably be the invitation. It is so fun and well made, it is one of the most clever DIY projects for a wedding I’ve ever seen.

I also really enjoy the family recipe favor, it is such a nice way to get your family involved, and a great gift idea.
