Wedding Gowns by Sarah Seven

With so many designers creating so much Bridal attire, for so many years, originality is hard to come by. Finding a gown that is both tasteful and unique can be difficult. For modern brides, breaking out of traditional looks is important; finding a designer or gown that fits your criteria is even more so. Sarah Seven is a fine example of how wedding dresses can be both stylish, and original, in a world full of cookie-cutter gowns. Her line is a breath of fresh air, with both short and flirty styles, as well as long and romantic dresses. With a hint of vintage inspiration, this is a designer you can’t help but love! Inspiration Palette #16

It’s been awhile since I did an inspiration palette, so I thought it was finally time to get back to it. This time, I was inspired by a truly gorgeous engagement ring by Lulu, who I featured in a previous post here. I really can’t get over how beautiful her jewelry is. Going with a classic, girly, vintage type theme, the peachy pink Morganite center stone really inspired this color scheme.

Wedding Inspiration Palette

Colors: Terra Cotta, Dusty Rose, Apricot, Champagne, Camel.

Elements: Lace, Shimmer, Satin, Ribbons, Roses.

Flapper Inspired Seattle Wedding

Although many couples look to escape the city for their big day, the city can still be an amazing backdrop, especially for stunning photography. Jen and Matt’s Seattle wedding is a perfect example; fun, roaring 20s inspired style and industrial cityscapes make for a unique and memorable look. I really love all of the flapper era inspired details that have their own modern twist, including the bride’s sequined sneakers, pinstriped suits, peacock feathers, pearls and bridesmaid’s outfits! Breath taking photography by the very talented Sarah Rhoads, check out her blog for more. Found via the amazing Love My Dress.

Vintage Inspired Bridal Jewelry

The hottest trend for weddings right now? Vintage inspired style, decor, and even traditions. You’ll see plenty of creative and unique weddings, all drawing inspiration from decades past, with a hint of a modern twist. Iconic decades that can act as a wedding planning muse include: the roaring twenties, the glamorous forties, and the glitzy fifties. Every detail, from the dress to the jewelry, to the reception festivities, can all incorporate the style of any given era. No detail, however, makes more of a statement than vintage inspired bridal jewelry. Though your dress will easily be your highest priority, your jewelry can accentuate and complete your wedding day look.

Vintage Inspired Bridal Jewelry

Nothing says 20s like a long string of pearls, or sequined headband. Nothing says 50s like diamond jewelry and chandelier earrings. No matter where your find your inspiration, gold jewelry can flatter your vintage style. White gold, pearl drop earrings, with lots of glitz, and a matching, simplistic pearl necklace can compliment any gown. Or, you can go for more heirloom inspired pieces with rose or yellow gold, complimented by pink morganite diamonds, like these found on ShopNBC.

Vintage inspired jewelry is easy to find; you don’t have to spend a fortune buying estate jewelry, or spend your time searching through antique stores. Many jewelry designers today are creating pieces that are brand new, drawing from the style of previous decades, and modernizing them to offer a unique and original look. Browsing your options, you’ll find plenty of options no matter what your budget may be. Vintage looks are growing more popular in the fashion industry today, which means it’s increasingly easier to find both fashion jewelry, and bridal jewelry with a vintage feel. Although pearls and diamonds are the most iconic focal points in vintage jewelry, you can find more budget friendly options that feature morganite or lab created diamonds and rhinestones. And with semi precious stones becoming more popular, you’ll find more options that can suit your wallet. This means more practical options for every bride, especially if you’re purchasing a piece to be worn solely on your wedding day.
